The Books I Read in 2025

Sharing what I read during the previous year is always my favorite post to write. I love discovering new books that will change you, make you think, and are exciting, romantic, or so good that you know they will live rent-free in your head.

I read 19 books last year! I started two series, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Fourth Wing, which were both great series to start. I read a few mysteries and, of course, a few self-help / motivational books. Here is everything I read in 2025.

  1. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
  2. The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins
  3. The Librarian Spy by Madeline Martin
  4. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
  5. Forever Summer by Nora Roberts
  6. The Last House Guest by Megan Miranda
  7. Verity by Colleen Hoover
  8. Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
  9. Run by Ann Patchett
  10. And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
  11. The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson
  12. The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
  13. The Girl on The Train by Paula Hawkins
  14. Get Good with Money by Tiffany Aliche
  15. Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
  16. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
  17. The Mountain is You by Brianna Wiest
  18. Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
  19. All The Cool Girls Get Fired by Laura Brown and Kristina O’Neill

My top five reads:

  1. Let Them Theory was the most influential book for me and many others last year. A lot of my friends and family read this book, making it fun to discuss and to see how it relates to so many of us in our lives. I truly believe this book can be re-read each year as a reminder. I wrote a blog post on how the ideas of this book transformed my life
  2. The Fourth Wing series has been the gateway to the fantasy genre. I was never into fantasy before, but this series is very eventful with some badass characters. The complex dynamic between characters makes this series a page turner.
  3. Verity is the second Colleen Hoover book I’ve read. I read this book during my road trip in Europe last summer. It is an easy read with a twist at the end that you do not see coming. I made sure to keep my husband entertained during the car ride by reading some chapters to him. I look forward to the movie coming out this year!
  4. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is another series that I love and will always recommend. While fictional, this series touches on some human rights issues. The main characters, Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist, are a unique pairing and the most unlikely of friends, but how they work together and protect each other is something to admire. Understanding why Lisbeth is the way she is makes the story really fascinating. You definitely cannot just stop at the first book; you should read The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest.
  5. The Librarian Spy was a surprise read for me as it was not on my TBR. While on vacation, I read both of the books I brought with me, so I picked this one that my MIL had. Set during World War II, it follows the journey of two women who find themselves in roles that have a chance to help save lives and end the war. Their bravery is one to admire, the hardships and the heartbreaks as they lose important people around them.
