Outside of the books I’ve read, the new products I’ve tried, or the outfits I’ve worn on repeat, my favorite thing about April and May was the change in weather, the hints of summer, and the happier energy that came along with it.
- SPF is essential every day, but especially now that we are spending more time outside, it is a must. I started using this Kiehl’s Better Screen UV Serum. It is a lightweight formula that works well under makeup. My current morning skin routine is vitamin C serum, moisturizer, and UV serum.
- I have been a big fan of the L’Oreal Voluminous mascara for many years, but a few months ago I attended a Chanel beauty event and tried the Chanel Le Volume Mascara. I have been wearing it every day for the past few months. The brush separates the lashes and adds volume, making them look long and full. I do love when a mascara can make my lashes pop.
- If you want a natural but glowing cheek, try this blush in the shade Pink Blossom. It’s very buildable and easy to blend.
- One pair of denim I have been wearing a lot this spring so far are these Ecru denim. They are the perfect alternative to white denim and just as easy to style day to night. See this reel with some outfit inspiration.
- Not sure when or why my outfits became more neutral, but I have been having fun adding pops of color here and there while keeping a simple, classic style. This sweater is the epitome of a classic cable knit, but the pink is so playful.
- Two books I read recently, enjoyed, and recommended to friends and family are None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell and Strangers by Belle Burden. Both are vastly different, one being a psychological thriller and the other a memoir on marriage and life through and after divorce.
- Lastly, I watched The Devil Wears Prada 2, so here are my thoughts… I actually liked it. I know many people and friends who have seen it thought it was a flop, but honestly I enjoyed the homages to the first movie. There were so many little details like the cerulean sweater cut into a vest (do not want to give much away). While I do agree that it is not as iconic as the first, I can say it is nice to get closure with the characters to know that they get what they want (mostly) and, in the end, help each other to get there. Did you watch it? I am curious to know your thoughts.
