My Wedding Makeup: Every Product Used

My wedding makeup was the most beautiful my makeup has ever looked. What if I told you that we used affordable makeup products, too? In honor of my first wedding anniversary, I’m thrilled to finally share this post with you, detailing how my mother-in-law and I achieved this look for the most special day.

I felt honored that my Mother-in-Law did my makeup for the wedding day, as she is a makeup artist. I knew that getting ready together would be such a special moment that we would always cherish.

It took me a long time to figure out the inspiration for my wedding makeup – I knew I wanted something simple and timeless that would complement my dress and hair. I found my makeup inspiration on IG from @makeupbyalessandra_, who is a bridal makeup artist. I do not remember how I stumbled upon her page, but I was in love with all the looks she created, and I knew immediately how I wanted it to come together.

SKIN

One of the most important parts of wedding makeup is in the prep. A few days before the wedding, I had a hydrafacial, which is one of my favorite facial treatments because it is a gentle and non-irritating treatment to the skin. As a result, the skin was glowy and supple, and no downtime was needed.

On the day of the wedding, we kept to the same skincare routine I did on a normal day-to-day. We started with a Vitamin C Serum and a daily moisturizer.

MAKEUP

I wanted my skin to look as natural as possible without layers of makeup that would leave me feeling uncomfortable, especially in the summer heat. We used my go-to It Cosmetics CC+ Natural Matte Cream for foundation. This product has been in my makeup bag for years. It has skincare properties, and it’s great for oily skin.

For concealer, we used the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear. This is the perfect concealer that helps brighten under the eyes and has a smoothing effect.

We did use a cream contour stick, which was new to me at the time! We used the Westman Atelier Face Trace Cream Contour Stick in the shade Biscuit. The formula is beautiful and easy to blend. It gave the right definition to the face. We then used the Airspun loose powder to set the foundation, concealer, and contour.

I knew I wanted a rosy cheek for blush. We were on the hunt for one that gave good color and a natural flush to the face. One that we did not think would be too overpowering, but would complement the rest of the makeup. We landed on the Milani Cosmetics Rose Powder Blush in the shade Tea Rose. To warm up the face, we used the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer.

To highlight, we used the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder. I love that this product gave a very subtle and beautiful glow. Some highlighters can be too shiny or the glitter pieces too big, making the skin look unnatural, but this one perfectly brightens.

Now onto the eyes! We used the same eyeshadow palette featured in the makeup inspiration – Magic Mirror Artistry Palette (sadly, it is no longer available; a similar one here). To prime the eyelids, we used the Milani Cosmetics Stay Put Eyeshadow Primer. With this primer, my eye makeup held up all night. In the crease and lightly under the eye, we used the shade Instantly Enchanted, and used the shimmer shade Future Flash for the eyelid. A brown eyeliner was used to create a very thin and subtle wing, but also to create more definition to the look.

I knew I wanted to wear false lashes, but they needed to be weightless and look like they blended in with my natural lashes. We chose the Ardell lashes #420 because they have an invisible band, making them seamless, and they do not feel heavy on the eyes. They have the perfect length and amount of whispiness that played into the simple look I wanted to achieve. The mascara used was my holy grail, L’Oréal Voluminous in Blackest Black.

Lastly, to make the eyes look brighter and open, we used a nude eyeliner on the lower waterline.

My eyebrows were filled in with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer and set with the NYX Control Freak Brow Gel.

My favorite part of this makeup look is the lips. I wanted the perfect nude-pink look, which we found using the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Liner in Pillow Talk, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk, and topped with Tower 28 Jelly Lip Gloss in the shade Oat.

To set the makeup for the day, we used the e.l.f. Stay All Night Micro Fine Setting Mist.

I am thrilled with how my makeup turned out for my wedding day. It turned out exactly the way I wanted it to, and the best part was that I used most of my favorite products. I hope you use this as inspiration, whether for your own wedding or future events. I know I will recreate this makeup look again!
