This video is about three winter looks that I put together. For these winter looks, I wanted them to be more casual but at the same time wearable during these colder months. I wanted to focus on a key part for dressing for the winter which is layering.
The best part of this week… was finally having a snow day! During the winter I look forward to the snowy days where I can feel lazy all day long. Except the reality is that a snow day is for catching up or trying to get ahead of work.
For a while, I didn’t put much effort into having a skincare routine. The most that I would do was moisturize and try to keep my face free of makeup at night. Recently, I have been obsessed with sheet mask and want to tell you why.
Pink and grey! A classic and feminine color theme. Even though it is only February, I am already thinking about spring colors. I love pastel and neutral tones for the winter, especially for days that I want to take a break from wearing black.
Happy Friday! Hooray we have survived another week. This past week I was in total desperation for Friday to come because that meant that I was going home for the weekend. Even though I felt like I couldn’t wait to go home, I also felt that I was lacking in major time needed to get homework done and work on the blog this week. I am hoping (fingers crossed) that I will be able to work a bit this weekend to get ahead of the game in terms of school work, create some blog content, and also manage to go to my job in which I work retail on the weekends. I have always been the type to want to stay busy. I don’t like the feeling of being bored or unmotivated. However, there are times that it feels so amazing to just veg out in front of the tv to binge watch Fixer Upper or the Bachelor.
It is the last few days of January and the beginning of February! How fast the time goes! This outfit is a casual look that I have been wearing on repeat. Ever since I thought of layering a stripped tee under my slightly cropped sweater I have not been able to stop wearing this combination.
Happy Friday! I am so happy that the weekend is here. This past week was not too stressful because school work is not to much to handle yet… Next week might be a different story. Tonight I will be celebrating the Chinese New Year with some of my friends so that should be fun and full of delicious Chinese food I think that I want to start a series where on Fridays, I recap the week whether it is insta pics, videos that I have seen, or other random inspiration. It is good to just take some time to unwind and relax so that’s kind of what I want my Friday post to be about.
I am a huge fan of turtlenecks for the winter! I think that they are the perfect piece for layering and for keeping warm. In this video I showed you three outfits that you can incorporate a black turtleneck.
It is the second year of The Girl From Connecticut! I am really excited to see what this new year brings not only for the blog but for life in general. I always reminisce about the day that I first started my blog, I wasn’t sure what I was doing, I had no idea how much work it would take and certainly did not know how much I would come to love and appreciate having a platform of my own. Yet amongst the stress from college and work when I come home, I have not given up on my dream for my blog. I am now on chapter 2 out of my more and I couldn’t be more thrilled.
