Must-Have Pieces for Spring

Spring is finally here! I am so delighted by this. The in-between weather can be tricky to dress for as it can be too cold for light layers but too warm for a jacket. I am sharing my must-have pieces for spring that should help solve the question of what to wear.

A Classic Trench

The classic trench is back for the season. Of course, this piece made it on the list of must-haves and is number one in my book. This style coat elevates the simplest jeans and tee shirt looks. Not to mention they are a great outerwear layer for the cooler mornings headed to work. I can guarantee you will get your money’s worth if you have not invested in one yet. I am also into cropped trench coats, especially when styled with high-waisted trousers and sneakers, it becomes a cool girl look.

A White Button Down

A white button-down seems like a no-brainer – and you most likely already own this piece in your wardrobe. I find the best way to look put together is to wear a button-down and jeans. It is the simplest and best formula for elevated basics. My favorites are this Polo Ralph Lauren for a more tailored look and this Banana Republic one for a more relaxed and oversized look.

A Denim Jacket

Once the weather permits, I do not go without a denim jacket. It is probably my favorite outerwear piece to wear with practically every outfit. I always have one with me for the office since it is always cold. They are a staple that I will never get rid of. I have had my J.Crew denim jacket for at least eight years and it still serves me well. If you are not into the typical denim try a white or black denim jacket instead.

A Classic White Tee

This is another staple that most of you should already own in your closet! You can never go wrong with a classic jeans and a tee look. I recently traveled and only brought jeans and tees with me. To dress up the look when needed I wore mules and a cardigan. Having good basics makes it so much easier to get dressed and play with color and fun accessories to add interest to the look – like a blank canvas.

Wide-Leg Denim

By far my most worn bottoms are wide-leg denim. I find that they work perfectly for every occasion. They also look great with different shoe options. The most flattering style for me is a high-waisted pair.

Loafers

I have been wearing my Sam Edelman loafers nonstop since I bought them in March. They are super comfortable and are a classic pair. Not to mention this pair is super affordable. I’ve had my eye on the Gucci pair but I can not justify the price yet, but they are for sure on my wishlist. Loafers are another favorite that brings your outfit to the next level. Next time switch out your lifestyle sneaker for a loafer and see how it instantly changes the look.

White Sneaker

Like a classic white tee, you cannot go wrong with adding a white sneaker to your rotation. They even work for a majority of outfits and occasions. I am such a classic jeans, tank, and white sneaker kind of girl. It also helps to have a lifestyle sneaker you can also wear to work (if permitted).
