There are some things now that as an adult make me nostalgic for childhood. I love the way some foods have the ability to transport me of a special time and place in my life. I remember as a kid looking forward to this dessert made by a cousin and I’m so pleased to have found the recipe to share with you!
I had no idea what they were called but all I remembered was eating this delicious sugary dessert filled with chocolate chips, coconut, and condensed milk. I have come to learn that this dessert is called a seven-layered cookie or magic bar. The recipe I used was found through Pinterest.
This dessert is really easy to make and it came out really delicious. You only need a small slice to satisfy your sweet tooth cravings. You can easily enjoy this dessert with some ice cream too!
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
1 cup of crumbled graham crackers
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 cup of butterscotch chips
1 cup of coconut flakes
1 can of condensed milk (14 oz)
1 cup of pecans
First, melt the butter in the baking dish, add in the graham cracker crumbs over the butter. Layer the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut flakes. Pour the can of condensed milk over the coconut. Lastly, layer the pecans on top. Bake at 350˚F for 30 min. Let it cool and serve.
