Summer is quickly moving forward bringing fall close behind. As I am writing this post, I can see the hints of fall right outside my window. It is official- the leaves are changing color.
As August rolled around and now September, I was anticipating the heat to linger, but my expectations were not met as the last month has been filled with mid to high 70˚ weather. In New England, fall is the pinnacle of the year. People travel here to experience all its beauty and the festivities that come with it. I for one, surely am looking forward to it!
With the change of season also comes that change in wardrobe color. It is now the time of year when I constantly wear black, grey, olive, or camel tones on repeat.
This summer yellow was a trending color and it comes as no surprise that it has seamlessly made its way into fall. The shades of butterscotch, gold, antique moss, and mustard are all shades that are showing up in fall collections.
When it comes to styling certain colors, it can be intimidating. However, adding the pop of color with your accessories is the easiest way to allow your look to stand out while still in your styling comfort zone.
I found these mustard mule slides and was instantly drawn to them. Not only is the color really unique and beautiful, but I find the shape of the mule to be different from ones I’ve seen.
I wanted the shoes and bag to be the focus leaving the rest of my outfit very minimal. I wore a pair of high rise chinos (regular length so they are cropped on me) and a cream-colored ribbed top to create a monochromatic look. With the cooler temps in the morning and evenings, a jean jacket is the perfect outerwear.
