Winter Skincare Roundup

Although winter is ending and spring will soon be in sight, I can finally say that I have cultivated a good amount of skincare products that I have been loving and using religiously throughout the past winter months.

Skincare is very important to invest in! The other day I was in the skincare section of Sephora and I  spoke to one of the beauticians and she mentioned how we should be paying more money for skincare than we should be for makeup.  The point is that we need to invest in our skin to get the results we want!

For a while I had my priorities mixed up when it came to skincare. There were times when I didn’t wash my face with a cleanser and only used makeup removing wipes (yikes!) and there were times where I didn’t moisturize. I would say that it has taken me about a year to cultivate a list of products that has helped my skin look more youthful, healthy, and radiant. I have also tried so many products and now know that Kiehl’s is the brand that works best for my skin!

The Cleanser: If you have been following my blog from the beginning  (2015 🙂 ) then you would know  that my holy grail face cleanser was Biore. It was all that I used at the time because I struggled with pimples and keeping my skin clear. Honestly if someone were to ask me for a cleanser recommendation I would still probably recommend Biore. It is a good choice for summer skin and oily skin. For the winter I realized that I needed a cleanser that would still help to keep my pimples under control but was more gentle on skin. The Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser is perfect for removing makeup and cleansing the skin gently. I noticed that my skin has also had minimal breakouts.

The Toner: For a long time and still, Witch Hazel has been my toner of choice for multiple reasons. It is affordable and gets the job done. I started using the Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal Extract Toner. It is hydrating and gentle because it does not have alcohol, and I noticed my skin feeling tighter and healthier after using it. Let’s just say I am hooked!

The Night Serum: I have never used a serum before and didn’t know how much of a difference it can make for dry skin in the winter. Since I have combination oily skin, I knew that I wanted a serum that I can wear at night and not during the day. There is nothing better than to wake up to soft skin.

The Eye Treatment: I love this eye treatment. I use it daily and wear it under my makeup. Keeping the skin around your eye hydrated is essential as it is the most delicate skin on the body.

The Radiance Serum: I love to mix this Caudalie serum with my daily moisturizer that I wear under my makeup. It has truly transformed my skin and keeps it looking healthy. What I love about it is that it is oil free so it doesn’t break apart my makeup throughout the day. It is a splurge, but it is worth it. A little bit goes a long way!

I was recently told that my skin was more radiant and I know that it is not only because of my highlight, but because I have been dedicated to keeping my skin healthy and building a consistent routine. What are some of your favorite winter beauty products?

  3. Nice information shared!! Before going to bed, I always make sure that my skin is nice and clean.Wash off dirt, which might be invisible, and use I prefer to use a gentle cleanser on my face. Our skin will ‘repair’ itself overnight, and does that best when clean.
