When I first started my blog in 2015, I was a freshman in college. I had taken a liking to makeup and watched all the OG makeup artists on YouTube. I would show up to my 8 am class with glitter eyeliner and decked out head to toe. I put thought into coordinating my makeup with my outfits. Fast forward seven years, I now longer show up anywhere with glitter eyeliner and my makeup has become more minimal.
Shacket Season
Last year I hopped on the shirt jacket trend! For fall it has quickly become one of my go-to pieces for layering as the weather is transitioning. They can be styled from casual to something a bit more dressy.
My Best Friend Shares Her Go-To Affordable Skincare Products Part Two
I recently shared a post in collaboration with my best friend, Mara in which she shared some of her favorite affordable skincare products. In this post, she shares her skincare routine with some of the products she previously shared. You can read part one here.
H&M Sweaters for Fall
I think it is safe to say that we know the skit with SNL comedians Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler where they are talking to each other about it being “sweater weatha” (If you are unfamiliar then see it here). Here in CT it feels as though it went straight from summer temperatures to fall temperatures overnight. I am slowly bringing out more and more sweaters to wear as it is freezing in the morning, warm during the day, and back to freezing at night.
Western Boots for Fall
It’s the first day of fall! It’s my favorite season for a few reasons. I love the crisp air, the beautiful New England foliage, wearing my cozy robe around the house, and as the weather changes bringing out my boots. In this post, I am sharing some great additions to your closet. The Western-style boot is fun and can be flirty when paired with a cute dress or skirt. They have a distinct look but can still be rocked by many. They come back year after year, so I consider them a closet staple for a fun boot.
Wide-Leg Denim Outfit Inspo
For many, wide-leg denim or pants are not the first choice when building outfits. They can be considered too baggy and not flattering for different body types, or if you’re petite, they are often too long and not altered in a tailored way. I used to think they would look ridiculous on me. I did not want to trade skinny jeans for a wide-leg look. Once I could find pieces that were flattering for me, it was a complete game changer. I am sharing some wide-leg styles, how you can wear them, and what to look for in a pair that will work for you.
My Best Friend Shares Her Go-To Affordable Skincare Products
I am excited to have partnered with my best friend, Mara for this post. Since day one, Mara has been my go-to for skincare questions and product recommendations! I was intrigued when she mentioned that she has traded some of her more expensive skincare products for the ones we find in Target or the drugstore. It shows you do not need to purchase the most expensive products to keep your skin protected and healthy. What is important is knowing what you need to treat your skin.
10 Easy Summer Reads
There is no better feeling than being able to kick up your feet after a long day or enjoying a slow summer day with a good book. I look forward to reading easy, fun books with entertaining storylines. I am sharing some books I enjoyed reading during the summer!
Affordable Summer Slip Dresses
I have always loved slip dresses for summer. They are wearable to many functions, simple yet elegant when dressed up, and subtly sexy.
The Best & Easiest Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
All I have to say is that I am obsessed with these cookies and you will be too! I discovered this recipe on the back of the Kirkland Signature (Costco’s brand) chocolate chips over a year ago (which I believe they discontinued), but I saved the recipe and it has been my go-to ever since.
