I am truly shocked by how fast this summer is going. I can hardly believe that we are now half way through July – but I will admit that I am looking forward to the cool weather again. Last week, a friend and I ventured out to Hawk Ridge Winery which is located in Watertown, CT. As soon as we made the plans I could hardly contain my excitement, because 1. I have never been and 2. it is always nice to catch up and spend some time with friends!
When it comes to summer, I find that it is the best time to showcase my more playful side with color and patterns. I tend to keep my outfits simple but I love to accessorize with statement bags. Again this summer I am all about the straw bags, wicker bags, and colorful embroidered bags that truly allow my summer outfits to POP!
It has been a hot minute since I lasted posted on the blog and I am really excited to get back to it! Now that we are officially entering the summer months, I have been building my wardrobe with the essential pieces that I know will be my go-to’s. In the past, I have always stuck to the simple jeans, tee, sneakers or flats rotation for the summer. I would always feel like that would be a safe bet for me as I would always struggle with what to wear.
Apparently the ground hog saw its shadow… or is it that it didn’t? I always get confused, either way it is said that we are to be faced with another six weeks of winter. I don’t know about you, but when winter feels like it is dragging on and on, I find it harder to come up with chic winter looks. I have been wearing the same type of outfit for the past few weeks and I am starting to get bored. I figured that since we are still in it for the long haul why not gather some inspo!
Is it just me or are you still slightly in the Holiday spirit? The seasons go so fast before I feel like I can fully enjoy it. I shot this look back in November thinking that it would go up before the Holiday’s, but it certainly was not the case.
Happy Thanksgiving! Each month that goes by the anticipation for the holidays build. These last two months are my favorite for various reasons. The first reason is dressing up! Can you blame a girl for wanting to feel fancy all the time?! The second reason is watching Christmas movies and the feeling of relaxing. My last reason is togetherness. The holidays are the time where family and friends come together and I know that I get really excited to spend the day with family and friends.
It is evident from my last post that I am obsessed with these velvet boots. I wanted to show another way that they can be worn since the holidays are coming up.
I can’t believe this is the last full week of October! Seriously where is the time going? This fall season has been unusually weird here in CT, it goes up to the 70s one day and then back down to the 50s another. Getting dressed in the morning has been a challenge.
One item that I recently added to my wardrobe is a denim skirt. Whenever browsing through Pinterest, I would find at least five outfits that include a denim skirt and end up loving how it was styled and how effortless and casual a denim skirt can be. I think that a denim skirt is the perfect piece to wear when you feel like ditching jeans, and perfect for transitioning into fall. Just think about all the chunky knits and boots that can be worn with a denim skirt!!
Happy Thursday! Thank goodness it is almost the weekend. Today begins the Friends and Family event at Banana Republic where there will be 40% off of regular priced merchandise online and up to 50% off in store!
