One Place You Must Go Before Summer is Over

I am truly shocked by how fast this summer is going. I can hardly believe that we are now half way through July – but I will admit that I am looking forward to the cool weather again. Last week, a friend and I ventured out to Hawk Ridge Winery which is located in Watertown, CT. As soon as we made the plans I could hardly contain my excitement, because 1. I have never been and 2. it is always nice to catch up and spend some time with friends!

The winery that we went to is the epitome of CT. Beautiful open land with a very rustic building (where you go in to buy your wine). There is a menu for hors d’oeuvres that all seemed super tasty, but my friend and I ordered take out and brought a blanket to enjoy the CT evening. For wine, we bought a bottle of Rosé – Rosé Bublé, which can be described as a sparkling Rosé with hint of Raspberry. It tasted like summer! It was so fruity and crisp, I loved it, and highly recommend you try when you visit.

Here are the reasons why you should go to a winery before summer is over:

  1. It is the perfect unwinding spot after a long day at work
  2. It is an easy way to plan a girls evening – I would say GNO but wineries tend to close early evening.
  3. The perfect date spot
  4. Affordable- at least at Hawk Ridge, there was no entrance fee, all you pay for is the wine and whatever food you want.

As for the outfit, I knew I wanted to wear something that would be transition-able from work to evening so I picked this beautiful red and white stripped seersucker dress (wow that’s a mouth full!). The best part is that it is super affordable and truthfully looks designer! I wore Vans with this look because I knew I wanted to be comfortable and they actually looked really cute with the dress. For the bag, I wore my new favorite straw bag from Zara. See this post here for more summer bag options.
